Subject: Communications Campaign to Make Juneteenth a National Day of Observance

Dear Senator:

The National Juneteenth Observance Foundation (NJOF), which is under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Ronald V. Myers, Sr.,
Founder & Chairman, is spearheading a National Campaign to make Juneteenth Independence Day a National Day of Observance, like Flag Day or Patriot Day.

There are now 40 states, and the District of Columbia, that have made Juneteenth a state holiday or state holiday observance. These states include Texas, Florida, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Delaware, Idaho, Alaska, Oregon, Iowa, California, Wyoming, Missouri, Connecticut, Illinois, Louisiana, New Jersey, New York, Colorado, Arkansas, Kentucky, Michigan, New Mexico, Virginia, Washington, Tennessee, Massachusetts, North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia, Vermont, Nebraska, Ohio, Kansas, Wisconsin, Indiana, Mississippi, Georgia, Maine, Nevada and Alabama.   

I/we are requesting that you support by sponsoring legislation to make Juneteenth Independence Day a National Day of Observance, like Flag Day or Patriot Day.
